The LAND of Ellis

I've always known that I would share my voice with the world.  I wasn't sure HOW, all I knew was that I was destined to write, draw & create.  It wasn't until 1997 when my dream became a reality, I wrote and illustrated, "Dare to Dream Ambrosia," about a little girl who explores the world through her dreams.   After receiving 26 "NO's" from publishing  companies , it was then that I made the decision to dig my own treasure.  Sure, I could have waited for an affirmation but I decided to say YES to myself.  My dreams weren't as important to them as they were to me.  So...I dove off the cliff and into the world of self-publishing.  For the earlier part of the journey, I didn't make much money.  As with most start-ups and aspiring talents, I spent more than I made.  And truthfully, God had some cleaning up to do in my life before I could see the fruit.  Well...it's been 20 years.  OMG!  It didn't dawn on me until this very moment that it has been 20 full years since God gave me a glimpse at what hope would look like.  WOW!  I am so grateful that I stayed the course.  I could have given up but quitting has NEVER been an option.  I will never stop trying!  So just know, every book you purchase speaks of perseverance and courage.  Every tote bag you will sport tells the story of relentless pursuit.  Every greeting card you will send to a friend screams tenacity and faithfulness required in order to get the job done.  

Dreams really do come true.  But not without paying a price...
